¡Hola!
Hope everyone had an amazing week despite losing an hour of sleep! Haha maybe that's why this week went by so fast! BUT spring is finally on its way. The sun is out today and we don't even need coats! It's the best day ever pretty much :)This week was another good one although it went by super fast! For some reason we've been constantly running into people that are somehow associated or want to know who we are. This one lady we met on the bus we ran into again at a random store today (she's gone once to another Ward). She definitely feels like it's for a reason now. Also just random members and people who know about the Mormons.....it's been so cool! Sometimes it feels like we are invisible in this giant city but it must be because it's warming up but we're just having so many cool experiences everywhere we go to share our message and our own "sunshine"!We're also getting a lot of progress with our Spanish unit/ English Ward. We've found our a lot more members speak Spanish and one member grew up in a Ward like ours and so we're going to have a meeting soon about some plans we can make to progress it fired into a Spanish branch, and we're just so excited for the potential this area has!! :)So Thursday we went to help one of our Spanish members paint....but apparently I misunderstood her phone call and she asked us to bring elders too....haha so we frantically got some elders close by to help for like a half hour (they painted the ceiling) BUT we ended up spending like 4 hours helping her paint one of her rooms. I'm definitely going to be able to add painting to my resume after the mission! ;) (but maybe not understanding Dominican Spanish on phone?)Friday we got to travel up to Scarsdale to go to the new missionary meeting for Sis McAlister. Meetings are always such a blessing in our weeks they really help motivate and refresh me! Always good to get some doctrinal training from President too. Friday night we saw both Iris and Maria in the same night...haha they're both talkers so it was definitely a blessing that we were able to visit them both :) they're both just so amazing I love them :)Saturday we got to meet with one of our potential investigators, Sonia, that we'd been trying to get in contact with for a while. She's going to college and had never heard of the Mormons before she had so many genuine questions and it was such a cool experience to be able to talk to someone so close to our same age and really relate! I mean I love all of our 80 year olds but it was a cool experience to teach someone our age!Yesterday we got to go to the soup kitchen and I just love New Yorkers so much! I love all the people we are able to meet thanks to our little black name tags, it's such a blessing!!Anyway I think those are the highlights of this week! We have zone conference Friday in which we'll here more about the Easter initiative for the church as well as receive new iPads. Super exciting! We also have a few more things to do today for pday so you might get a few pictures later.I love you all so much. Have an amazing week! (Oh and Happy almost St-Patty's day!)
